Girl, Get Up!
A Healing & Empowerment Experience Inspired by
When the Black Girl Cries
You have cried. You have survived. You have carried pain that nobody knew existed. Now it is time to get up.
Girl, Get Up! is an intimate healing and empowerment experience created for Black women who are ready to confront what hurt them, release what has held them back, and make room for the stronger, softer, freer women they are becoming.
Inspired by Kiarra Gilmore’s powerful book, When the Black Girl Cries, this experience brings women together in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment for honest conversation, meaningful reflection, sisterhood, and personal transformation.
This is more than a workshop—it is an opportunity to stop pretending that everything is okay, acknowledge the experiences that shaped you, and begin choosing yourself without guilt.
What You Can Expect
During this four-hour experience, guests will participate in:
- A powerful healing conversation led by author Kiarra Gilmore
- Guided self-reflection and interactive exercises
- Honest discussions surrounding trauma, grief, betrayal, heartbreak, survival, and self-worth
- Practical tools for releasing emotional weight and rebuilding confidence
- Meaningful conversations with women who understand what it means to keep going
- An intimate atmosphere centered on healing, connection, and sisterhood
- Opportunities to identify what you are ready to release and what you want to reclaim
- A beautiful, welcoming experience designed to encourage softness, strength, and personal growth
You do not have to arrive completely healed. You do not need to have everything figured out. You only need to come willing to be honest with yourself and open to taking the next step.
